SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to K.S.A. 25-2018(b), a primary election will be held, if necessary, the 5th day of August 2025; and a general election will be held on the 4th day of November 2025, for the Board Members of Unified School District No. 347, Edwards County, Kansas. 


Candidates may file at the Edwards County Clerk's Office, Edwards County Courthouse, Kinsley, Kansas before 12:00 noon, June 2, 2025. The positions to be filled are:

Member At Large, Position 1

In 1939, Kansas state’s own Edwards County became famous when its road sign made the cover of The Saturday Evening Post and was nicknamed “Midway USA”. From the date of its publication, the location was recognized as the halfway point that stood at an equal distance from the East Coast state of New York and the West Coast state of San Francisco.

Our Mission

The mission of Edwards County is to provide quality public services in a cost-effective manner through innovation, leadership, and the cooperation of dedicated people.

Our Values

Edwards County is known as Midway USA. Located halfway between New York and San Francisco, we are home to 2,800 residents and consist of 3 cities. Kinsley is home to the county seat with around 1,350 residents and has 3 major highways that run through it. Lewis is located in the eastern part of the county and is the second largest city with approximately 420 residents. The farthest eastern city is Belpre with around 200 people. On the Western side of the county at the edge of the county line is Offerle with 100 people.


Edwards County has rich history and citizens that are proud of their heritage and enjoy the pleasures and rewards of a small-town atmosphere.
